A John Maxwell–trained coach, Amazon best-selling author of 11 books, and international speaker, Sonia is the founder of Guyana Fashion Week, the Sonia Noel Foundation, the Women in Business Expo, and several other socio-cultural platforms shaping culture, confidence, and purpose across Guyana and the Caribbean.
She was the first Caribbean designer invited to speak at Brown University and on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., during Caribbean Heritage Month. “When I hear the phrase Confidence Becomes You, I don't just think of confidence as something you possess. I think of confidence as someone you become.
For me, Confidence Becomes You gave me something I didn't realize I had lost. It gave me back my breath. It gave me back my life beyond being a wife and a mother. It awakened the courage and conviction to revive dreams I thought had died within me.
The truth is, those dreams were never dead. God had already planted them inside of me. They simply needed to be revived. This experience breathed life into the very essence of who God created me to be and reminded me that my purpose was still alive.
One of the greatest gifts of this experience was language. Sometimes you know there is something stirring inside of you, but you don't know how to articulate it. You feel it, but you cannot explain it. Confidence Becomes You gave me language for what God had already placed within me. It gave me a voice. It gave me clarity. It gave me boldness. Most importantly, it reminded me that my purpose is worth pursuing.

The Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts
Founded in 2012, the Sonia Noel Foundation for Creative Arts (SNFCA) creates access for talented individuals in Guyana and across the wider Caribbean, nurturing performing arts, visual arts, fashion arts, and culinary talent.
The Foundation is known for its Style Mission fundraiser fashion shows, which have supported causes including sickle cell awareness, breast cancer awareness, and domestic violence support, alongside its Bread Basket initiative, distributing free bread and meals to the underprivileged and homeless, and community programs like its December 2025 senior citizens' retreat near Parika.
In recognition of her philanthropic work, Sonia received the Outstanding Humanitarian Award at the 69th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69).
